Former reality TV’s Jon Gosselin doesn’t pay child support

Divorce can turn into a stressful situation for both parties involved, including any children the couple may have together. Divorce is an ordinary event for North Dakota residents, just as it is across the country. Regardless of income or societal status, divorce can still be a necessity for any couple.

Most of the residents of North Dakota are probably familiar with Jon Gosselin, who starred with his wife and kids on the reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8. Now, four years after his popular show ended, Jon Gosselin is now waiting on tables in Pennsylvania.

Gosselin explained in a recent interview that following his divorce from Kate, which ended the TLC series, it was very difficult to re-enter the workforce. With only the income from being a waiter, Gosselin now lives without internet or television in a modest cabin in the woods. He also revealed he does not pay any type of child support, but contributes in his own way. When the children are at his house, he purchases things that they need there, including groceries. They have their own bedrooms at his house, as well their own toys and other items.

The number of child support issues in North Dakota must be astronomical. With so many families living in the state, divorce is bound to happen. When the split is between parents, custody of the children and child support must be determined. Some cases are easier than others are, such as those with parents who are willing to work together on a co-parenting agreement that allows them to share joint custody and raise the child as parents and friends.

North Dakota residents facing child support and child custody issues should not feel overwhelmed. There are family legal professionals who can help in making the process a more peaceful, smooth transition. It is important for those facing child support issues to seek out answers and make sure their rights are protected. Ultimately, though, a judge must make a decision that is in the best interests of the child, not their parents.
